Woman busted for heroin

Erin Martin-Brown, 38, was pulled over just north of exit 3 in Sunderland around 8 p.m. after police received a phone call from a concerned motorist who informed police they had witnessed Martin-Brown's car cross the fog line and nearly strike a set of guard rails as it travelled north on US Route 7 from Bennington.

Intially, Martin-Brown provided Sergeant Joel Howard of the Bennington County Sheriff's Department with a false name before later identifying herself as Erin Martin-Brown of Bellows Falls.

She was subsequently processed for DUI-drugs.

Martin-Brown faces charges of driving while criminally suspended, possession of heroin, DUI-drugs and false information to police officer. She was transported to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility for a violation of probation.

Martin-Brown is scheduled to appear in Bennington County Superior Court on Sept. 16.
