Winter wildlife workshop planned at library

MANCHESTER CENTER >> The Manchester Community Library will host Alan Benoit's popular Sustainable Living Series. Join Benoit on Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. for "Winter Wildlife." Benoit will explore the winter survival techniques of plants, birds, insects and mammals through his stories and his photos taken while hiking in the woods of Vermont.

These free presentations are geared toward increasing public awareness on all things green. Each Sustainable Living talk focuses on a different topic in the areas of energy efficiency, home design, nature and gardening and includes an educational presentation, a hands-on demonstration and a case study of real-world examples.

Benoit's education in engineering and passion for ecology combined with years of experience as a local architect give him a unique perspective on the integration of sustainability at all levels. Benoit volunteers on many local boards, was awarded the 2012 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence and was featured in Organic Gardening magazine along with his wife Nancy.

The Sustainable Living Series is free and open to the public. Manchester Community Library is located at 138 Cemetery Ave. For more information, contact the library at 802-362-2607.
