Winhall library begins outdoor pickup
BONDVILLE — Winhall Memorial Library will begin offering outdoor pickup May 19.
Librarian Dawn Santos said she underwent training to appropriately return to work safely.
"I have completed the required training from Vermont Occupational Safety and Health Agency before we initiated any steps to begin serving the public," Santos said.
Santos said the service will begin Tuesday and the service will be available noon to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays.
Details about the service is on the library's website at www.winhallmemoriallibrary.org.
The schedule is subject to change or cancellation depending on changes in safety recommendations from authorities.
The outdoor pickup will work by calling or emailing to request books, audiobooks and movies by title, author or genre. Request a few titles more than you want in case your first choice isn't available. New releases and recommendations will be featured on the library's social media sites.
Santos asked that patrons remain patient.
"I will contact you back regarding pick-up date," Santos said. "Please be patient as I am the only staff member here that will be filling your request."
Santos said, she will check the items out to you, pack them in bags, write your name on the outside and place them on the table outside.
Returns can be dropped in the normal book return.
Please remember social distancing by wearing a mask and maintaining 6 feet of space if others are picking up or returning their material.
No book donations are being accepted right now, and all books and DVDs returned to the library will be put in "quarantine for 10 days before they are cleaned and returned to the shelves.
