Taconic Music to perform Sunday at Depot 62

MANCHESTER — Taconic Music is offering a free concert of unusual music in a non-standard venue.

At 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Depot 62, the Taconic Chamber Players will perform an eclectic mix of music from the Americas, with styles varying from rock and jazz, to tango and South American folk-influenced string quartets.

The musicians —violinists Joana Genova and Heather Braun-Bakken, violist Ariel Rudiakov and cellist Liam Veuve — will speak about each piece. Percussionist Matthew Gold will show a variety of instruments including marimba, drums and guiro.
