MANCHESTER — Taconic Music is pleased to announce a new opportunity for area violin, viola, cello and double bass students, ages 7 and up, to participate in a string ensemble.

The Taconic Junior Ensemble, directed by cellist Karen Svirsky and violinist Joana Genova, will rehearse on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester. The fall session, which begins October 15, will consist of 7 rehearsals and culminate in a public performance. The program fee is $50. Prior ensemble experience is not required, but all students must be able to read music.
