BOSTON — Boston University awarded academic degrees to some 2,100 students this January. The graduates included Sophie Marie Steinwenter, of Arlington, who earned a bachelor of arts in neuroscience and biology, specializing in cell biology, molecular biology and genetics.
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Rachel Bartholomew of Granville, N.Y., a member of the Class of 2021, was named to Bryant University's dean's list for the fall 2018 semester.
WORCESTER, MASS. — Curan VanDerWielen, of Dorset, earned second honors on Clark University dean's list last fall semester.
To be eligible for second honors, students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5, of a maximum 4.3.
Colorado School of Mines
GOLDEN, COLO. — Cody Goebel, of Manchester, was named to the dean's list of the Colorado School of Mines for the fall 2018 semester.
Students who make it to the dean's list have a grade point average of at least 3.5.
Emory & Henry College
EMORY, VA. — Leila Bruske, of Cambridge, was among 200 students named to the Emory & Henry College's dean's list last fall.
To qualify for the dean's list, a student must achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.6 and must have completed at least 12 credit hours of course work during the semester.
BEVERLY, MASS. — Three Northshire residents qualified for Endicott College's dean's list last fall semester. They were Sinead Carthy, of Manchester Center, who is pursuing a bachelor's in communication; Eric Owens, of Manchester, majoring in biology and biotechnology; as well as Bryn Tufts, of Peru, a hotel management major. To make the dean's list, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no grade below a C, have no withdrawal grades and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.
Hobart and William Smith Colleges
GENEVA, N.Y. — Margo Grapshi, of Dorset, was named to the dean's list of Hobart and William Smith Colleges for the fall 2018 semester.
This honor is given to students whose outstanding academic performance resulted in a grade point average of 3.5 or above.
Northern Vermont University
JOHNSON/LYNDON — Lucie Daley, of Manchester Center, earned a spot on the president's list of Northern Vermont University last fall.
To be included on the list, a student must achieve a 4.0 semester grade point average.
NORTHFIELD — Vincent Robert Polhemus, of Bondville, was recognized on the dean's list of Norwich University for the fall 2018 semester.
Saint Michael's College
COLCHESTER — Two Northshire residents were named to the dean's list at Saint Michael's College last fall: Lexie Alexopoulos, of Manchester Center, a senior environmental studies major; and Veronica McMorrow, of Dorset, a senior psychology and elementary education major. Alexopoulos graduated from Burr and Burton Academy; McMorrow, from Westover School.
Students cited on the dean's list for the semester have completed a minimum of 14 class credits with grades and achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5.
St. Lawrence University
CANTON, N.Y. — Ursula Martin, of West Pawlet, was selected for inclusion in St. Lawrence University's dean's list for academic achievement in the fall 2018 semester.
Martin, a member of the Class of 2020, is majoring in English and performance and communication arts.
To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 for the semester.
St. Olaf College
NORTHFIELD, MINN. — Hannah Cabasco, of Manchester Center, was named to St. Olaf College's dean's list for the fall 2018 semester. Cabasco, who graduated from Walla Walla High School, is majoring in music and psychology.
The dean's list recognizes students with a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
MEDFORD/SOMERVILLE, MASS. — Samuel Cochrane, of Manchester, was named to the dean's list at Tufts University last fall.
Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher.
University of Rochester
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Max Pagnucco, a junior majoring in audio and music engineering at the University of Rochester, was named to the dean's list for academic achievement for the fall 2018 semester. Pagnucco, a resident of Londonderry, is a graduate of Burr and Burton Academy.
Wake Forest University
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Two Northshire residents were named to Wake Forest University's dean's list for the fall 2018 semester: Nathaniel Eisenman, of Winhall, and Bridget Ring, of Manchester Center.
Students named to the list are those who earn a 3.4 grade average and no grade below a C.
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. — Natalie Gaiotti, of Danby, was named to the president's list at Western New England University last fall. Gaiotti is working toward a bachelor of arts in sociology.
Meanwhile, Donna Montgomery, of Cambridge, was included on the university's dean's list in the same semester. She is pursuing a bachelor of arts in communication, with a concentration on public relations.
Students are included on the president's list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher; those on the dean's list earn an average of at least 3.3.
