MANCHESTER — The Manchester Rod and Gun Club is offering scholarships to this summer's Green Mountain Conservation Camps for youth.

Ninety percent scholarships, equivalent to $225, are available to young people who live within a 30-mile radius of Manchester.

The camps — at Buck Lake in Woodbury and Lake Bomoseen in Castleton — will be holding sessions for people ages 12-16 from June 16 to Aug. 16.

They offer hands-on learning experiences about the outdoors including fish, wildlife, ecology, botany, forestry, hunter firearm safety and first aid.

The camps are owned and operated by the State of Vermont.

Applications are ongoing, and forms can be filled out at vtfishandwildlife.com.

Participants who would like to apply for the Manchester Rod and Gun Club scholarships should contact club member Carol Dupont at 802-362-5556 before they accomplish the application forms online. Club representatives are also on-hand to help with filling out the forms.
