Norfolk Chamber Music Festival
The Miro Quartet is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a year-long homage to three quartets that helped shape chamber music in America. In its July 29 concert at Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the Miro will recreate a performance first done by the Kneisel Quartet in 1910. Works include Mozart's String Quartet, K. 458, "Hunt;" the Andante from Gliere's String Quartet, Op. 2; the Scherzo from Franck's String Quartet in D Major; Servais' Fantasie sur Deaux Airs Russes, Op. 13' and Schubert's famed "Death and the Maiden" quartet.
