Man killed in one-car accident in Dorset


DORSET — Vermont State Police say a Wisconsin man has died following a one-car accident on Morse Hill Road in Dorset on Thursday night.

According to state police, shortly before 8 p.m., a vehicle driven by Thomas Deyo was traveling east on Morse Hill Road when it failed to negotiate a turn, left the road, struck several trees and became airborne.

The car struck several more trees before coming to rest on its roof, state police said.

Deyo, 50, of La Crosse, Wisc., was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.

According to the Secretary of State's website, Deyo is listed as the principal of Manchester Laundromat LLC, located on Depot Street in Manchester.

Bennington County Sheriff's Department deputies and first responders from Northshire Rescue and the Dorset and East Dorset fire departments responded to the accident.
