Mahaiwe receives financial support

GREAT BARRINGTON — The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center has received financial support from both the Feigenbaum Foundation and Berkshire Bank to support its 2018 season, youth programs and capital project.The $50,000 Feigenbaum Foundation grant will be divided among the following projects: $25,000 for arts education programs; $5,000 to support the youth ticket discount program and $20,000 toward important facility repairs and upgrades that are part of a Massachusetts Cultural Council Cultural Facilities Fund matching grant program.Berkshire Bank will continue its support of the Mahaiwe's annual youth Hip Hop Program with Open Thought Productions.The Fitzpatrick Trust and several individual donors have also contributed funds toward the Mahaiwe's one-to-one match of its $65,000 Cultural Facilities Fund grant, but the performing arts center still needs to raise $28,000 by the end of this year to complete the match for capital projects.
