Posted

To the Editor:Taconic Music of Manchester brought the Taconic Chamber Players to the Vermont Veterans' Home on May 16. The performers were Heather Braun-Bakken, violin, Joana Genova, violin, Ariel Rudiakov, viola and Nathaniel Parke on the cello. The program included pieces by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and Dvorak. The Veterans were completely captivated and transported by the music. In fact, for the 60 minutes the Taconic Chamber Players performed many of the Veterans were able to forget they were dealing with serious illnesses. One Veteran said "That was the best concert I have ever been to!"A special thank you to Prospect Rehabilitation of Manchester, for funding this concert for the Veterans and to Vietnam Veteran Gary DuFour for advocating for our Veterans a making this concert possible. The Veterans are looking forward to the next concert.Gary YelleDirector of Marketing/Admission CoordinatorVermont Veterans' Home, Bennington
