Letter: Thanks for habitat support

To the editor:On Nov. 18, the community stepped out in faith with Bennington County Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Publyk House while sharing its blessings with those in our communitywho need affordable housing opportunities.This first large fundraising event for Bennington County Habitat was an achievement because of the generous support of individuals and businesses. Major sponsors of the event included rk Miles, the Bennington Bannerand Manchester Journal, Raymond James, The Bank of Bennington, Orvis and Subaru of Bennington. Table Sponsors included Christos,' Jennifer and Brian McKenna, Earth and Sea Fish Market, Heritage Family CreditUnion, Little Rooster Caf , S-Squared Solutions, Sushi Boat, Amy Thebault Design and TPW.More than 55 donors shared their blessings of monetary donations or items for the silent auction and raffle. Thirteen donors provided items for the Live Auction.Lauren and Steven Bryant provided a beautiful location at the Publyk House for the event and gave tirelessly of their time and talent to make the evening elegant. The 97 attendees were treated to hors-d'oeuvresand a delicious meal along with drinks.Passin' Thru kept everyone moving to the music, and Lisa Ann of Mountaintop Music delighted attendees with her vocals. Steve Schlussel volunteered as the auctioneer. Rep. Cynthia Browning took photos.Other folks worked on the volunteer crew. The driving forces were event hosts Linda Joy and Allan Sullivan and a small crew of four amazing women, two of whom brought in all the sponsors and the majority of the donors.It is with the deepest gratitude that Bennington County Habitat says "thank you" to everyone who made this night possible.Susan SommerBennington CountyHabitat for Humanity
