Letter: Reminded of how special the library is
To the editor:My wife and I moved to Manchester two years ago. We feel lucky to have chosen such a unique community that offers so much, including adult educational programs, nearby community theaters, a great school system, recreational activities and the Manchester Community Library. As new residents, we drove by the Manchester Community Library many times before stopping. I was taken back by the beauty of the building, resource rooms, research resources, the fireplace and accommodations for readers. All that aside it was the welcoming feeling and helpfulness of the staff and volunteers that made the biggest impression. I have visited the library often since that first visit and my appreciation grows for what has been built and my admiration for all the people that continue to make the library such a special place. I have taken friends that visit us to the library as part of my "visitor's tour" of Manchester and the surrounding area.As I read through the latest emails from the library, I am reminded how special the Manchester Community Library is and how fortunate my wife and I are to have chosen to live in Manchester.Marc and Peggy BlumenthalManchester
