Letter: James committed on climate change
To the Editor:I wish to express my support for Kathleen James who is running for the state Legislature to represent Bennington-4 (Manchester, Arlington, Sunderland and Sandgate). I first met Kathleen through her children Bailey and Bridget Ring, who are the same age as my own children and attended public school here in Manchester. We share a love for singing — Kathleen is a member of the group So Far — and we both feel strongly about social justice and environmental issues. Kathleen has always been very supportive towards the Northshire group Earth Matters. She spoke publicly at the group's recent Earth Day event in Manchester about the mitigation of global warming through sustainability and energy efficiency. Climate change is one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Kathleen is the only candidate for this district who is totally committed to making the changes necessary to combat greenhouse gas emissions and promote the green energy sector in the state of Vermont. Kathleen is a candidate that is looking to the future, not clinging to ideas of the past. She has stood up for the issues important to the next generation in this community, including gun control and civil rights. She has proven to be an ethical, moral and transparent leader and will continue to keep in touch with her constituents through the press, social media and regular office hours. Vote for Kathleen James this November!
