Kids invited to wet a line and win prizes at fishing derby

MANCHESTER — Little anglers eager to feel the tug of a trout should circle May 24th on their calendar.

That's the day the Manchester Rod and Gun Club will hold its annual fishing derby at the Palmer House Pond for kids 14 years of age and younger.

The pond, located next to Manchester Elementary Middle School, will be stocked with trout for the event, which is slated to be held from 6 to 7 p.m., with registration beginning at 5 p.m.

Participants should park at MEMS and walk to the pond for easiest access.

Not only will the day feature plenty of hungry trout, but plenty of prizes as well. There will also be food and beverage provided.

Prizes will be awarded at 7 p.m.

The entire event is free of charge. The first 50 entrants will receive a free t-shirt. For more information, call 802-774-8568.
