Holiday services in the area


The Northshire Baptist Church will have Sunday services at 9:45 a.m. Dec. 23. A special Sunday service at Equinox Terrace Assisted Living will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 23. On Christmas Eve, there will be a 4:30 p.m. service with a special children's church for youngsters ages 2 to 6 as well as a special children's Christmas pageant.

The United Church of Dorset and East Rupert will hold community Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24 with two services. The first will be a family service that will begin at 4:30 p.m. It will include a Christmas story, a special time with the young and congregational candle-lighting. The second service will begin at 8 p.m. and will include Communion and congregational candle lighting. There are no services on Christmas Day. The Church is located at 143 Church St. in Dorset.

The East Dorset Congregational Church Christmas Eve service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24 in the church. There will be carols to sing, the lighting of the Christ candle and a message by Pastor Jenney. Please join us to celebrate the birth of our Lord.

The Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester Center will hold Christmas Services, all of which include Holy Eucharist. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. is the family service with Christmas pageant. That will be followed at 7 p.m. with a service at St. John's Chapel in Manchester Village, then back to Zion at 9 p.m. for the candlelight service with the choir. The Christmas Day service will be at Zion at 10 a.m. Zion Church is located at 5167 Main Street/Route 7A.

The First Congregational Church of Manchester will hold Christmas Eve service on Monday, Dec. 24. The children's/family service will be at 5:30 p.m. and our traditional service of lessons and carols begins at 7 p.m. Please be with us at 3624 Main St. in Manchester.
