Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning
Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning welcomes Steven Sinding to talk about Teddy Roosevelt and the Progressive Era. The Progressive Movement arose during the last decade of the 19th century and then gained national momentum during the years between Theodore Roosevelt’s ascendancy to the Presidency and the 1920 election of Warren G. Harding. A central aim of the Progressive Movement was to address the excesses of the Gilded Age and bring a greater sense of equity to national life. The talk will identify how the Progressives grappled with the issue in their time and what we can learn from their experience and apply to today. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
