"Red": Bennington's Oldcastle Theater opens its 48th season with the Tony-winning John Logan play. Friday, 7:30 p.m; Saturday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., Bennington Performing Arts Center, 331 Main St.
Make it funky: The Equalites (reggae, roots, rock and soul) and Shokazoba ("a nine-piece horn-driven funk powerhouse") play a double bill that's sure to get you shakin' your groove thing. Friday, 8 p.m., The Stone Church, 210 Main St., Brattleboro.
Dona Mara: Solo show by Rupert abstract artist at stART Space Art Gallery. Opens with artist's reception Saturday, June 8, 5 to 7 p.m. Gallery at 263 Depot St., Manchester Center.
Step Right Up: The Bovine Social Club's "Clap Hands: The Poetry and Song of Tom Waits" caps Stroll weekend with interpretations of Waits' songs and poetry through an Americana lens. Sunday, June 9, 7 p.m., The Stone Church, 210 Main St., Brattleboro.
