MANCHESTER — Burr and Burton Academy is hosting an event next Saturday for the survivors of suicide loss.

The school, along with its student CARE Club, an organization dedicated to promoting mental and physical wellness, will host an International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9-11:30 a.m at the Rowland Center, on the school's main campus on Seminary Avenue.

Each year, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention supports hundreds of International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day events across the globe. Come together with fellow survivors of suicide loss in your community for a day of connection, understanding and hope.

The event will include a documentary screening, breakout sessions including yoga, guided meditation, art therapy and group therapy, and a concluding service.

In the interest of creating a safe space for loss survivors, most events are specific to survivors of suicide loss. In addition, many events cannot accommodate children and teens.

Questions may be directed to Kristen Kimball of the school's college and counseling office at kkimball@burrburton.org.
