Dorset Players to hold auditions for holiday production on Oct. 3

DORSET — The Dorset Players will be holding auditions for their holiday production of "The 12 Days of Christmas," at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3 and Wednesday Oct. 4. Auditions for the play, for which rehearsals will begin the week of Oct. 16, will be held downstairs at the Dorset Church.

"The 12 Days of Christmas," by Renee Calarco will be directed by Sheila Childs, with 20 roles for both children and adults being casted. Performances will take place throughout the first two weekends in December with shows on Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m., and shows on Dec. 2, Dec. 3, Dec. 9, and Dec. 10 taking place at 2 p.m.

The play is a modern and playful interpretation of the classic Christmas song, with fresh dialogue and vivid characters being introduced. Throughout "The 12 Days of Christmas," the young Partridge (alongside his pear tree,) works to round up other characters from the song, with amusing difficulty.
