Diversity discussion in Dorset

DORSET - A discussion of faith and diversity will be held at the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert on Saturday, April 6 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Guest panelists Rev. Jim Grey, Rabbi David Novak, The Rev. Bruce Lee Clark, and Fr. Joel Warden will discuss diversity and theology. The most vocal opponents of LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, and Queer) rights have often used religious traditions to defend their positions.

Yet many LGBTQ people, of diverse beliefs, return to faith to find comfort, compassion, and to reconnect with the community and beliefs instilled in them. PFLAG Dorset is sponsoring this Faith in Our Families event. PFLAG Dorset is a non-profit community support and educational outreach organization serving the families of southern Vermont.

This event is free and open to the public. The church is located at 143 Church St. (Off Route 30) in Dorset. Call 867-2260 or email dorsetchurch@gmail.com for more information.
