Cemetery meeting set

DORSET - Maple Hill Cemetery, on Route 30 in Dorset, will hold its annual meeting on Monday, June 24, at 5 p.m. at the Dovetail Inn in Dorset Village.

All property owners and interested persons are welcome to attend to review the past year and discuss the future concerns of the Cemetery personnel. Property owners and those interested are asked to attend to offer their opinions on the general conduct and operation of the cemetery which is located on the Stone Valley Senic Byway.

Maple Hill is a pre-Revolutionary War cemetery. The first person buried there was in 1772 and efforts are being made to make this historic piece of Dorset attractive to all who live in or visit the town.

When placing floral decorations at a grave site, make sure that they do not conflict with the mowing or maintenance of cemetery graves and that artificial decorations are not used. All cleaning and repairs of grave memorials is the responsibility of the individual grave owners.
