Authors hold discussion; bookseller chat planned
MANCHESTER — The Northshire Bookstore will feature an author discussion and a bookseller's chat this week.
The first event is at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, when Megan Giddings, author of "Lakewood," will be in conversation with Maisy Card, author of "These Ghosts Are Family."
Giddings debut about class and race, "Lakewood,"which evokes a terrifying world of medical experimentation — part "The Handmaid's Tale," part "The Immortal Life" of Henrietta Lacks.
Appearing with Giddings for this special literary conversation is Card, whose "rich, ambitious debut novel" "These Ghosts Are Family" is one of Buzz
Magazine's Top New Books of the New Decade.
The second event is at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, when booksellers gather for a remote, online, discussion for a special evening of book recommendations and conversations.
Booksellers from both Northshire locations will host a friendly meetup and tell you about their recent favorite books. The discussion will help readers find new reads and allow Northshire readers to catch up with their friendly neighborhood book community.
