MILTON -- The Burr and Burton boys hockey team started the season in a rematch from the 2020 Division II semifinal against Milton on Saturday.

BBA avenged their semifinal loss with a 8-6 win at Highgate Arena.

Milton led 3-2 after one period before BBA exploded for four goals in the second. Eventually BBA expanded the lead to three goals before holding on for the victory.

Emmett Edwards and Jakub Mulac each had a pair of goals, with both of Mulac's coming into the third period. Karter Noyes also had a pair of scores.

Nicky Miceli added a score, as did Taylor Carey.

Riley Casey had two assists. Miceli, Noyes, Matt Grabher and Mulac were all credited with assists.

In goal, BBA's Miles Kaplan and Michael Hornby combined to make 14 saves.

BBA, CVU tie

MANCHESTER -- The Burr and Burton girls hockey team scored with five minutes left to secure a 2-2 tie over Champlain Valley Union on Saturday night at Riley Rink.

Mia Paligo scored both goals for the Bulldogs, who start the season at 0-0-1.
