To the Editor: The Kid's Summer Lunch Team would like to thank the Manchester Fire Department for the generous use of its space this summer.
The MFD could not have been more accommodating, allowing KSL to use its space for distribution and its refrigerator and freezer for food storage. We also want to thank Smoky House for providing fresh fruit and vegetables to our family distribution sites in Danby, Manchester and Mettowee.
Each year, Kid’s Summer Lunch feeds approximately 200 children during the months of June, July and August, when many children report going hungry the most.
KSL is a community-based program run by volunteers. We are grateful for the community support we receive and could not do this program without their generosity.
If you’re interested in learning more about Kid’s Summer Lunch and helping to end child hunger, contact the Dorset Church 802-867-2260 and you'll be put in touch with one of the team members.
