The League of Women Voters of Vermont congratulates Vermont voters for turning out in record numbers to vote in the 2020 General Election.

According to the Secretary of State’s office, 372,366 Vermonters cast ballots in the Nov. 3 election, with more than 70 percent of voters choosing to mail-in their ballots.

The League of Women Voters of Vermont thanks Secretary of State Jim Condos and the Elections Division for mailing ballots to every active registered voter, answering a multitude of voters’ questions, and working diligently to make every vote count in the General Election.

Additionally, the League of Women Voters also thanks Town and City Clerks and poll workers for ensuring voters at the polls participated in a fair, safe, and secure election despite challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Exercising the right to vote is how we keep democracy strong. We are most fortunate to live in a state where government officials and political parties want everyone to vote.
