To the Editor: Attention Manchester residents. Vote yes on Article 4 on your Town Meeting ballot.

Your yes vote directs the Town of Manchester to take the important next steps to incorporate the Historic Manchester Marble Rail Trail into Manchester’s Rec Park public trail system. Article 4 is advisory, non-binding. A yes vote requires no commitments from the Town’s fiscal year 2022 budget.

This advisory vote directs the town to sort out the last few permit questions and pursue various funding mechanisms that would enable the purchase of this private land segment.

It’s time to make this trail a public asset without restrictions, for everyone to enjoy.

Adding the rail trail segment to the town trail system will provide a multi-use pathway from MEMS, via the Rec Center and Riley Rink, to North Road.

We appreciate your support.
