DORSET — Long Trail School announced its first positive COVID-19 case of the school year Tuesday.

The school’s health team of nurse Stephenie Frawley, Health Officer Scott Magrath and Health Communicator Katie Redding announced the case in an email to families.

“One of our community members tested positive for COVID-19 today,” the email read. “Contact tracing is complete, and any on-campus close contacts have been notified.”

The email notes that it’s the sixth week of school and academics, athletics and arts are in full swing.

“Our community of families must work together to keep our students, faculty and families safe,” the email said.

It also talks about the LTS community’s responsibility to each other.

“Our core values of integrity and social responsibility will help to guide us through this new phase of the pandemic,” the email said. “It is our goal to keep every student in school every day. We need each family’s diligence, openness and trust to accomplish that goal. We’re all in this together!”
