"I was elated when I heard the news that I was elected, it is certainly on honor. I look forward to serving the University of Vermont, it is certainly a preeminent institution in our state and I am very honored," Wilson said.
Wilson will be serving a six-year term that will take him through 2018. His term will start this upcoming March.
"The term starts march 1 and they hold quarterly meetings. I believe there will be an orientation sometime in March for new trustees," he said. "I thought it would be a great public service oriented opportunity to give back a little bit to the state I love and I intend on serving for a long time. I am certainly looking forward to this wonderful opportunity."

Jeff Wilson is currently the Vermont State Representative for the Bennington 4 District which includes the towns of Manchester, Arlington, Sandgate and Sunderland. He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2009 and is currently on the Vermont Ways and Means Committee. Prior to becoming a State Representative, Wilson served as the Town of Manchester's Town Manager from 1986 to 2003.
