Youth football team claims division title

MANCHESTER - The Bulldogs fifth and sixth grade youth football team defeated the Vermont Vipers 27-12 at Applejack Field on Sunday to become NYFL Divisional Champions and capped off a perfect 6-0 regular season record.

The Bulldogs will be the number one seed with home field advantage moving into the post season playoffs and their run to repeat as 2012 Super Bowl Champions.

Over the past two years the SR Bulldog football team has now won 15 consecutive games since the start of the 2011. Their next game will be 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, on the front field at the BBA High School. This year's Bulldog team has a high powered offense that is averaging 40 points per game along with a stiff hardnosed defense.

The JR Bulldog team comprised of second and third graders has also made it into the post season playoffs for a second year in a row and will be travelling to Bowen Field in Castleton for an 11 a.m. kickoff on Sunday, Oct. 14.
