Workshop for performing arts students set at BBA

MANCHESTER - On Monday, March 11, Burr and Burton Academy will offer a workshop for high school students who are interested in pursuing the performing arts in college. Devin Johnson - a 2009 graduate of BBA - and his mother Heidi will share their experiences and give tips for navigating the college search and application process. Specifically for students interested in a college degree in acting, dance, music, or musical theater, the discussion will center on those aspects of the college search that are unique to performers. Topics will range from choosing and visiting schools to applying and auditioning. Parents are encouraged to attend with their student.

Devin Johnson will graduate from Montclair State University with a BFA in Musical Theater in May. Heidi Johnson is a graduate of New England Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. The workshop will be offered on March 11 at 7 p.m. in the Vocal Music classroom located on the lower level of the Riley Center for the Performing Arts. It is open to the public and free of charge. For more information contact the Burr and Burton Academy Media and Performing Arts Department at 802-362-1775.
