Wllness Run a Success

To The Editor:

The Third Annual Pursuit Of Wellness Run/Walk against pancreatic cancer was held Oct. 19 in Dorset on a beautiful, crisp and cool Vermont morning. This year's race was attended by runners and walkers of all ages who covered the 5K course in times ranging from 18 minutes to 1 hour.

The race organizers would like to thank several of our community's businesses for their generous support.

Firstly we would like to thank The Inn at West View Farm for both their generous cash donation and their dinner donation to our fundraising raffle. We are grateful to sponsors R.K. Miles and Northshire Bookstore and prize donor J.K. Adams as well as Mulligans, Gringo Jack's and Christos for their kind gift certificate donations. It is heartwarming to witness the friendly ease with which these wonderful local citizens offer their assistance to our cause. We would also like to thank the Dorset Theatre for the use of their parking lot.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the Pursuit of Wellness are donated to the Hirshberg Foundation For Pancreatic Cancer Research, the mission of which is to research more effective early detection and treatment methods for pancreatic cancer as well as to provide financial assistance to pancreatic cancer patients.
