Winhall Town Administrator to step down

WINHALL - Town Administrator Dennis McCarthy, 66, has announced he is planning to retire and will be stepping down from his post sometime after Town Meeting.

According to a report which appeared in Tuesday's Rutland Herald, McCarthy said he had enjoyed the job but felt the time had come to move on. McCarthy has served as Winhall's town administrator for the past 10 years.

Applications from prospective candidates for the job will be accepted by the town's select board through Jan. 30. The select board will begin sorting through the applications at its meeting scheduled for Feb. 6, according to the Herald.

Attempts to contact McCarthy for further comment were unsuccessful.
