Waterwheel Quilt Shop adds new staff member

LONDONDERRY - Waterwheel House Quilt Shop has announced the addition of Susan Damone Balch to their teaching staff. She is an accomplished quilter, fly fisher and teacher.

Fly fishing, nature, and an extensive fabric collection provide the inspiration for her original art quilts.

Many of her quilts have been exhibited and won awards throughout the country.

Balch will be teaching the following workshops at the Quilt Shop, 6795 Route 100, Londonderry, Vermont. 802-824-5700 Saturday, Dec. 1, Color and Fabric for Quilters- One Day- All Levels, 10:30-3 p.m. Expand your knowledge of color, value and visual texture in order to have a better understanding of how to choose wonderful color and fabric combinations for your quilt projects and gain insight into your color preferences and individual style. This is a no-sew class.

Saturdays, Jan. 5,12,19 and 26, 2013- Four Sessions- Level- Intermediate to Advanced. 10:30-3:30 Naturescapes- Learn Susan's secrets to create a machine pieced nature scene quilt inspired by a favorite photograph or image.

Learn how to: interpret your image to create a pattern for a pieced design (even if you have never sketched before),choose fabrics for your design and precision machine piecing techniques.

Saturdays, Feb. 2,9,16 and 23, 2013- Four Sessions- Confident Beginner-Advanced. 10:30-3:30 Would you like to be more spontaneous and creative with your quilting? Are you attracted to unusual fabrics, but not sure how to use them?
