Volunteers needed for Race for the Cure

MANCHESTER - The 22nd annual Komen Vermont Race for the Cure, which takes place at Hildene Meadows, in Manchester on Saturday, Sept. 20, needs lots of volunteers before, during, and after the 5K walk, 5K race, and 10K race.

Tasks volunteers will be asked to perform range from staffing a raffle ticket table for a few hours in August or September to helping to direct traffic or handing out water on race day. Prior to the race, on Thursday, Sept. 18, and Friday, Sept. 19, many hands will be needed for set up. No experience is required for any position.

The positions that most need to be filled are: Parking; water bearers; roving raffle sellers; registration; Cureleaders (pom-poms, excited cheering, jumping, and leaping will be a requirement); kids activity tent.

Those who would like to volunteer should register online at komenvtnh.org (click on Komen Race for the Cure tab).
