Village Express to roll on weekends

DORSET - The Village Express - a free program that allows people to see the surrounding countryside aboard a tractor-driven wagon - will be operating on the weekends.

On the seven-mile loop via the Hollow Road travelers will pass the old waterwheel that generated electricity for the Glen Farm, view picturesque homes and stone-walled fields.

The view of Mt. Aeolus, dressed in its foliage finest, towers over the southern end of town.

The Village Express operates weekends weather permitting. Departures leave from the Dorset Union Store at the Village Green.

The free program will accept donations to benefit local charities.

The Village Express is a collaborative project of the Dorset Union Store and Rising Sun Maintenance with additional support from Tyler Electric.

For more information and daily departure times, call the Dorset Union Store at 867-4400 or Rising Sun Maintenance at 362-2648.
