Village Board of Trustees to meet

MANCHESTER VILLAGE - Pursuant to 24 V.S.A Chapter 117, Sections 4441, 4442 and 4444, the residents, property owners and interested parties of the Village of Manchester are hereby notified and warned that the Manchester Village Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing to consider a Permanent Flood Hazard Ordinance on May 6, 2013, at 4:30 p.m., at the Village Office, located at 45 Main Street.

Complete copies of the proposed Permanent Flood Hazard Ordinance are available for inspection during regular business hours at the Village Office, 45 Union Street.


The proposed Permanent Flood Hazard Ordinance serves to implement the objectives and goals set forth in the Manchester Village Municipal Plan; promote the health, safety and general welfare of the Village, its residents and visitors, by ensuring that development in flood hazard areas is reasonably safe, and accomplished in a manner that is consistent with the public welfare, and make the Village of Manchester, its citizens and businesses, eligible for federal flood insurance, federal disaster recovery funds, and hazard mitigation funds as may be available.

Geographic Areas affected:

The Ordinance pertains to those Fluvial Hazard Erosion Areas and Special Flood Hazard Areas described in the Ordinance.
