Vermont Country Properties names president

MANCHESTER - Sothebys International Realty recently announced the appointment of Lisa Coneeny as the new President and Principal Broker of the state-wide real estate firm, with five offices in the highly-desirable Vermont destination and resort areas.

As the Managing Broker of the Mt. Snow/Wilmington office for the past year, Coneeny brings to her new position a wealth of operational experience, technological expertise and a proven track record. Owners of the firm, Richard and Peggy Montague will continue to stay involved in operations and are looking forward to Coneeny's oversight of the multi-faceted marketing, sales, and professional development and compliance in the firm.

"As one of the strongest agencies in the state of Vermont, backed by our affiliation with Sothebys International Realty, our commitment to our sellers and buyers is to offer the most progressive services available delivered by a professional staff second to none. Appointing Ms. Coneeny will ensure our continued position as the pre-eminent luxury real estate firm in our service areas," said Richard Montague.

"Since joining the company, I have been impressed with the knowledge and commitment that the Vermont Country Properties team has to providing superior service to clients and customers and have also experienced firsthand the power of the Sotheby's International Realty brand," Coneeny added. "I am very excited to serve as President of Vermont Country Properties Sotheby's International Realty and look forward to growing the company in existing and new markets."

With a wealth of relevant experience, Coneeny's new position will build on her already impressive resume, most recently as a founder of A Place in Vermont Real Estate with business partner Leslie Fraser. Under the direction of Coneeny, as the Principal Broker, the firm grew into one of the most successful real estate agencies in Southern Vermont and the Mount Snow resort area before merging with Vermont Country Properties Sotheby's International Realty in November 2011.

Coneeny grew up in Washington, Penn. outside of Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. Upon graduating, Coneeny worked in the fashion world as a marketing assistant, specializing in special events, promotion, and advertising and as a Promotion Director for Smart Magazine. After nine years in NYC, Coneeny joined the American Cancer Society as a Director of Special Events, was promoted to Executive Director and eventually to a Regional Vice President. In that capacity, Coneeny directed overall operations, managed a $3 million annual giving campaign and supervised 17 full-time staff people in addition to recruiting, training, and motivating volunteers to achieve national organizational goals.

Coneeny and her husband Dwayne were married in Vermont and remained avid visitors. They eventually purchased a vacation home near Mount Snow and moved to Vermont full-time from Rumson, N.J. after an 18 month sabbatical spent sailing around the world. On a personal level, Coneeny is passionate about Vermont and takes advantage of all that the Green Mountains have to offer; living on a farm, hiking with her dogs, horseback riding, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing snowmobiling and motorcycle riding.
