Update: Permit granted for Price Chopper overhaul

MANCHESTER >> Approval has been granted by the state's Act 250 commision for the owners of the property where the current Price Chopper Supermarket and several other businesses occupy a site along Depot street to begin construction of a new shopping plaza, which may include a new Price Chopper supermarket, or it may not. that has not yet been confirmed.

Crosspoint Associates, the owners of the property, received their approval to demolish the existing 50,000 square feet of commercial space Wednesday, and to proceed with the construction of 39,400 square feet of a new grocery store, and renovated and new retail space totalling 27,369 square feet, with 212 parking spaces.

The initial application was filed by Crosspoint in June, 2013. A fuller story will be posted as soon as possible.
