Traffic stop leads to cocaine charges

ARLINGTON - A traffic stop led to heroin and cocaine charges for a Manchester woman after authorities said she attempted to discard the drugs in a police holding cell.

Amber D. Blake, 29, of Manchester, was arrested and charged after a motor vehicle stop for a minor traffic violation Thursday at about 5:32 p.m. on Route 7A in Arlington police said.

In a written release, state police said that during the stop Blake's vehicle was searched and police recovered a misdemeanor amount of pills. They said Blake was transported to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing, and while at the barracks, she attempted to discard a "felony amount of heroin" and a "misdemeanor amount of cocaine" inside the holding cell.

Blake was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail on possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, and three narcotics possession charges.
