Torres to keynote chamber dinner

MANCHESTER - Lars Hasselblad Torres, the Director of the Office of the Creative Economy for the State of Vermont, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting to be held at The Barrows House in Dorset on July 24 beginning at 6 p.m.

Also present will be Megan Smith, Vermont's Commissioner of Tourism and Marketing. Torres, the founder of Vermont's successful coworking facility, Local 64, joined the Office of the Creative Economy as Director in March of this year.

He was a part of the Manchester 20/20 visioning visiting team and was a participant in the recent TEDX event held at Burr and Burton.

The annual meeting will celebrate the leadership of Joe Wagner, CPA, during his tenure as President (2011-2013) and the incoming leadership to be provided by Lou Maguire, store manager, TD Bank of Manchester and Bennington. Lou Maguire became President of the Manchester and the Mountains Chamber on July 1, and will serve a two-year term.

Maguire will head the 24-member board of directors. Berta Maginniss is the executive director of the organization.

The dinner is open to Chamber members and guests and tickets are $40 per person or $70 per couple.
