Tommy Tune plays the NPA

MANCHESTER - Broadway's legendary song-and-dance-man, Tommy Tune, accompanied by his music director, Michael Biagi, will sing, dance and share tall tales at Northshire Performing Arts on Tuesday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Arkell Pavilion.

Known as one of the most prolific dancer/choreographers of the 20th century, the larger-than-life (6' 6") Tune has enchanted audiences for over 50 years.

This is Tune's premier in the area.

Tune has won nine Tony awards, which include Best Choreographer/Music Director for "Grand Hotel," "NINE," and "The Will Rogers Follies;" Best Musical Actor for "My One and Only;" Best Musical Director for "A Day in Hollywood" and "A Night in the Ukraine;" and Best Choreographer for "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." In addition, he has been awarded The National Medal of Arts, eight Drama Desk Awards, two Obie Awards, two Astaire Awards, The Drama Dance Award and the Drama League Award.

Northshire Performing Arts, Ltd. is celebrating its ninth season in 2013.
