Tinmouth contra dance set for Nov. 29

TINMOUTH - A contra dance will be held at the Tinmouth Community Center on Friday, Nov. 29, from 8-11 p.m. with Susan Conger on fiddle, Brendan Taaffe on guitar and Mary Wesley calling the dance.

Those who have never been to a Tinmouth contra dance will receive a special "first timer" deal of $5 provided that information is giving while paying the admission cost. The admission cost is $9 for adults, $7 for teens and free for children 12-years-old and under.

A contra dance uses square dance moves, but is done in long lines to live music. All dances are taught and a partner is not necessary. Beginners are always welcome. Dances become more challenging as the night progresses, so early arrival is recommended for beginning dancers.

The dance takes place in the Tinmouth Community Center, generally on the third Friday of the month. The Community Center is on Route 140 in the center of Tinmouth five miles west of Wallingford. Please bring clean, non-marring shoes. Refreshments will be available. For more information, call 235-2718 or visit or www.Tinmouthvt.org
