Tinmouth contra dance set
Mary Wesley will be calling the dances and live music will be provided by Randy Miller on fiddle and Roger Kahle on guitar.
A contra dance uses square dance moves, but is done in long lines to live music. All dances are taught and a partner is not required. Beginners are always welcome.
Dances become more challenging as the night progresses, so early arrival is recommended for beginning dancers.
The dance takes place in the Tinmouth Community Center, Route 140 in the center of Tinmouth, five miles west of Wallingford. Dancing takes place on the fourth Friday of the month. Bring clean, non-marring shoes.
The cost of admission is $9 for adults and $7 for teens. Admission is free for children 12-years-old and under. Refreshments will be available. For more information or directions, call 235-2718 or visit www.Tinmouthvt.org.
The winter/spring calendar for contra dances is as follows: Feb. 22, March 22, April 26, May 24, and June 21. There may not be a dance in July or August.
