Thrifty Attic grant aids in filling 'Fludde'

WESTON - A recent grant from the Thrifty Attic in Londonderry to Opera Theatre of Weston (OTW) will help area youth attend six daytime school performances of Noye's Fludde at the Weston Playhouse in January, joining other local corporate and grant sponsors to support a student discount price.

OTW's annual Opera for Kids School Outreach program will be attended by a total youth audience of 2,600 from schools all over southern Vermont. The Thrifty Attic's support will help to underwrite the school matinees offered by the opera company to introduce the world of opera to the children of the southern Vermont community.

According to OTW Education Director and Co-Artistic Director, Lise Messier, "Teachers continue to respond enthusiastically to OTW's Opera for Kids programs and thank us for bringing such a quality experience to so many young listeners in our area."

Each year, the Thrifty Attic contributes funds to worthy causes in area communities and Opera Theatre of Weston expresses gratitude to the Volunteers of the Attic for all their hard work which has made this grant possible.
