This week at the Farmers Market
MANCHESTER >> This week at the Manchester Farmers Market, we'll be crafting with veggies. Kids will make and decorate their own produce creations, like making Mr and Mrs Potato Heads from real potatoes. The PoP (Power of Produce) Club will continue for all of July, where kids will get $2 to spend on any produce. As always, kids activities are completely free.
New to the market this year, Freddy Shehadi will be providing music this week. The Manchester River Walk will also be joining the fun in our Community Tent.
Manchester Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 3-6 P.M. in Adams Park, across from Gringo Jack's. There is ample parking, just look for our parking signs. For more information email Krysta at firstname.lastname@example.org, or check ManchesterFarmers.org.
Our Harvest of the Week is beets:
Oven Roasted Golden Beets
3-4 golden beets
3-4 T vegetable oil
salt and pepper to taste
Chop beets into cubes. Toss with vegetable oil and put on a baking sheet or tray, making sure the beets are in a single layer. Add salt and pepper to taste. Roast at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until beets are soft and have golden brown edges.
