The Little School earns NAEYC accreditation

WESTON - The Little School in Weston, VT has earned a new five-year term of accreditation from The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) - the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals.

"We're proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards," said Meghan Meszkat, Director of The Little School. "NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible."

The Little School was established in 1976 in a historic schoolhouse landmark dating from 1861. Serving children from 10 surrounding towns, The Little School is proud to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing program that is responsive to various developmental needs and accessible to all families. Classrooms for children ages 2-5 provide developmentally appropriate full, part and extended day programs. To renew their NAEYC accreditation, The Little School went through an extensive preparation process, measuring the program and its services against 10 NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related accreditation criteria. The program received NAEYC accreditation after an on-site visit by NAEYC assessors to ensure that the program meets each of the 10 NAEYC program standards. NAEYC-accredited programs are also subject to unannounced visits during their accreditation, which lasts for five years.
