The importance of whistleblowing

Posted

MANCHESTER>> Green Mountain Academy continues their 15th summer season on Tuesday May 24 at 5:30 p.m. with a talk on the importance of whistleblowing by Middlebury College Professor Allison Stanger. The talk will be held at Burr and Burton Academy in the Hunter Seminar Room.

Whistleblowing is in America's DNA and has played an important role in keeping powerful elites honest, but the term is too often used in partisan fashion. Whistleblowers deserve respect for exposing misdeeds and making government more accountable. Powerful entities serve the American people better when elites cannot use them for personal or ideological ends. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. For more information or to register, call 802-867-0111 or visit their website at greenmtnacademy.org.
