Thanks to the Decorators
Holiday season visitors to Hildene, the Manchester estate of presidential son, Robert Lincoln and wife Mary Harlan, will find it as it would have been more than 100 years ago when the family celebrated Christmas 1912.
They will also find the home stunningly decorated and staged in the style of the period from front door to freshly cut tree.
What guests will not know, but we want them to, is that it was the time and talent of 24 local residents who decked the historic halls that made it possible.
The Lincoln Family Home was transformed by the spirit of volunteerism, alive and thriving at Hildene.
Special thanks to the ladies who made it happen: Chairwoman, Sherrie Rice, Sally Ayrey, Carol Berry, Cara Boshart, Becky Burke, Dot Closs, Berthe Cowles, Lorraine Farmer, Marie Ferrarin, Bonnie Franklin, Ginny Freeman, Claire Hall, Susan Hinkle, Carol Joder, Gale Kuhlberg, Pat Lee, Marge Malko, Jane Moriarty, Carol Munson, Barbara Powers, Jill Roosma, Bobbie Schwartz, Carolyn Smith, Pat Taylor and Ginny Warren.
