Thanks from VPS
All of us here at Village Picture Shows extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported our efforts in raising the funds to purchase the digital equipment necessary to keep the movies in Manchester. Support not only came locally and regionally, but also from such far away places as London, Israel and California. It seems no one who has a connection to our wonderful community wants to see the movie theatre die (as so many other theatres have) because of the new age of digital projection. As we wait for Amazon to release all of the funds, we are in the process of finalizing the purchase of the equipment, organizing the rewards lists and determining what extra funds we may have to upgrade the seating area and lobby for the customers benefit. This is no small task and we are determined to make the most of every donated dollar. Rewards are to be given out during the month of May.
In particular, we wish to thank Hildene, The Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Stratton Mountain, The Orvis Company, Tracy Sykes, Susan Hunter, Jess Lynn and Anne Marvan for their abundance of support. Of course, no donation has gone unnoticed and there are over 1,200 to thank, we hope that all of you who support us know how grateful we are, and we will do our best to spell your names correctly on our Wall of Fame and display the most flattering photos of you on our new big screens. We are working feverishly to re-open the first week of May pending any unforeseen issues. Once again, THANK YOU Manchester and surrounding areas. All of us at Village Picture Shows look forward to bringing you many more years of movies in our spruced up theatre.
